‘We're proud to deliver delight with Wesley Mission’

Chrisco has been awarded Wesley Mission Sydney’s Corporate Award for 2007, and at a public dinner to honour its major fund-raisers, the Mission thanked the fast-growing hamper company for its help in caring for people suffering hardship.

Wesley Mission’s Corporate Award is given to a company which has contributed not only financially but given support wholeheartedly in the donation of goods or volunteering or supporting Wesley Business Units.

Earlier this year, Chrisco opened its Auburn warehouse to provide a huge range of new household equipment, electrical goods, toys and other goods for Mission centres that care for homeless families and intellectually disabled people.

The generous gift from the hamper company was worth more than $50,000.

Accepting the Corporate Award at Wesley Mission’s Spirit of Mission dinner on 31 May, Chrisco’s Chief Financial Officer, Toby Poulson said that Chrisco understood family needs. The company had been helping families in Australia and New Zealand for the past 15 years, he said. The hamper business focused on helping families to save money each week to have a great Christmas every year.

“Delivering Delight” was what Chrisco aimed for, Mr Poulson said, adding: “We are proud to Deliver Delight through Wesley Mission”. Chrisco would like to continue helping Wesley Mission in the future, he said.

Chrisco was nominated for Wesley Mission’s Corporate Award by the Mission’s Manager of Accommodation and Independent Living Services, David Allen, who said that the company’s generous gift was helping to provide a better quality of life for people in hardship.

The equipment and toys, distributed throughout the Mission’s accommodation units for people with disabilities, or homeless families, helped make the healing and rehabilitating process easier, Mr Allen said.
